Soldiers from Croxley Green who fought in WWI
We have compiled lists by streets and locations that were the only ones in the village during 1914-18 war of soldiers who were associated with or lived in Croxley Green. These are separated by those who were killed and those who survived.
If you can recognise any of these men and have any information about them please contact us using the contact page.

As part of the CROXLEY GREEN HISTORY PROJECT, we have been researching the 400+ World War One servicemen who lived or worked in Croxley Green. This document is a summary of our findings. A printed version of the spread sheet is also available as indexed folders in Croxley Green Library.
Working from many different sources, including genealogy websites, local books and the invaluable word of mouth accounts offered to us by descendants of the soldiers, we have compiled individual profiles of the 100 men who lost their lives and of over 300 others who survived the War. The profiles are arranged alphabetically by surname under the tabs "died" and "survived". You might like to search by address to see whether a WW1 soldier lived in your house.
Sometimes the service records have been unavailable. Sadly, many were burnt or badly damaged in the Blitz during World War Two. We want you to know that we have done our very best to publish information that is correct and we apologise for any errors. Please let us know if you can add to any of the profiles or even to the list of names. The aim has always been to create a working archive so that future generations will always remember the sacrifice made by so many people, men and women, one hundred years ago.
