Byewaters Estate

At the closure of John Dickinson in 1980 and the subsequent demolition of the mill, the land provided a large site for the construction of office facilities. Occupants included Marconi Underwater Systems. However, these were soon sold and the land was bought by Barratt Homes for another housing estate development.  Properties of many styles were constructed between 1998 and 2002 and the roads were given names connected with the mill. Byewaters has a thriving residents association that can be found here www.byewatersnews.co.uk
