My parents moved to Croxley in the mid 1950's when they bought their first house together at 35 Hastings Way. My late father had a cine camera and was interested in recording his family growing up. The film below shows a family day out after the birth of their daughter - walking out of the house and up Baldwins Lane to play on the recreation ground. This is followed by some shots showing the front garden and the road. This was shot in 1959 - the boys (I'm the elder) were born July 1955 and June 1957 both at Watford Maternity Hospital; my sister was born January 1959 at home at Hastings Way - so a Croxley Green baby.
The next section shows my sister's first unaided steps and was shot in the back garden presumably in 1960.
A final section from 1962 shows my brother's 5th birthday party, again in the garden at Hastings Way. The friends must have been from the road and from Malvern Way Infants School which we both attended. I also attended Little Green for a year before we moved to the Cassiobury Estate in 1963.
Hopefully people may be able to put names to some of the faces at the birthday party that took place at 35 Hastings Road in 1952?
